Today, we will discuss some customer service techniques and tactics that will keep customers and clients happy, so that negative online reviews or social media comments do not become a problem for the marketing department.
Rounding out the top-performing sectors of 2014 was an unlikely pair: tech (+16%) and consumer staples (+13.2%)—the most aggressive and most defensive areas of the market, running side-by-side toward the finish line, with confounded spectators struggling to concoct a narrative for this. Why would the least cyclical sectors—healthcare, staples and utilities—lead the markets in a year in which unemployment plummeted and GDP growth gained momentum? Research from Bain & Company has shown that acquiring a new customer actually costs 6 to 7 times more than efforts spent on customer service and customer retention.
These are a few old shows that found new vigor in 2014 and deserve another look — and also a few that don’t.

Remedy: This is another hindsight-based regret that you can’t cure without a time machine. The years, energy and dollars you spent on your degree are sunk costs. You can’t do anything about your past academic track record, but you can identify the areas in which you think you fell short in your college days and figure out how to augment those shortcomings in the present.
